We know how to do it on a small level in a family business. We know how to do in large crowds such as the Glastonbury music festival. We know how to do it in the housing market, with some rules, laws and regulations thrown in. Large bureaucracies and businesses could be much better at it. Think of an organisation as a living system of human beings who are conscious social animals. Treat those people as human beings and unleash their creativity. Choose the type of organisation best adapted to the mission and the context – family, clan, tribe, power hierarchy, bureaucracy, strategic enterprise, community or a larger organisation that is a combination of all of those. Experiment a lot more.
